Ski Season

The ski season actually comes to an end on April 7 in 2019 so if you want to strap on those skis you are going to have to move quickly. Easter takes place in April this year and one of the main events celebrating this religious festival is the Baroque Holy Week, where you can enjoy some of the most wonderful music. Held in the Loretto Chapel, there are three performances on April 18, 19, and 20. The musicians include Stephen Redfield and Meg Bragle, part of the Pro Musica Baroque Ensemble. Gathering of Nations Pow Wow

Towards the end of April there is the Gathering of Nations Pow Wow. It is actually held in Albuquerque at the Tingley Coliseum Fair Grounds, this is an annual event that always takes place during the last weekend of the month. It is when the Indian Traders Market happens, which showcases the work of more than 800 traders and artists. There is plenty of entertainment and music and the event brings together more than 3000 indigenous and Native American singers and dancers from across the United States and Canada, representing around 500 different tribes. Throughout April there are also plenty of other performances, markets and exhibitions that you can go along to. The region is also known for wine-making and there are plenty of tours and tastings that you can take part in.
