June delights in Santa Fe

We all know that Santa Fe has so much to offer visitors, so let us bring you up to date on a few events to expect in June.  With not long to go you may need to move quickly so that you don’t miss out on the following events:

One for the music fans

If blues music is your thing then you need to make sure you’re here in Santa Fe on the 4th of June armed with tickets for a show at the Lensic Performing Arts Center.  TV’s Dr. Gregory House (Hugh Laurie) will be performing with the Copper Bottom Band.  This ensemble has quite a reputation and this is one evening of entertainment that you will not want to miss.  For more information visit the Lensic Center’s website.

Modern technology is upon us!

If modern technology and media are your thing then spending time in Santa Fe between June 13th and 29th will pay off.  The city will be home to ‘Currents: The Santa Fe International New Media Festival’.  Here you can take in all kinds of multimedia performances, documentaries and a variety of new media arts exhibitions.  This is a large-scale event so you can expect to see artists arriving from all over the world to take part.  For those who are on a tight budget there will still be plenty to do as most of the events are offered free of charge, with just some events incurring a cost.  For more information visit the Santa Fe International new Media Festival’s website.

Cowboy heaven

The Rodeo de Santa Fe will be taking place from June 18th to June 21st at the Santa Fe Rodeo Grounds.  If you already have an idea of what a rodeo is like then you will not be disappointed as events include barrel racing, bareback riding and bull riding.  The atmosphere is amazing and the fact that the event is still going 65 years after it was first started demonstrates just how popular it is.  Booking tickets and accommodation in advance is essential as the city attracts thousands of visitors at this time of the year.

Horticultural help

For a gentler pastime in Santa Fe you can spend time on June 21st and 22nd at the Herb & Lavender Fair.  Here you can take tours of the herb gardens, learn more about growing your own herbs, purchase plants and herbal products and generally get a bit more hands-on with the growing process.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about your existing hobby or find a new one.

These are just a few of the events taking place in Santa Fe during June.  For a list of additional upcoming events visit SantaFe.org: http://santafe.org/What_s_Happening/
